Peace can be found in my garden,
Except for the occasional tune of a robin
Aloft in the willow, or the breath of wind
Chilling leafless trees; a reminder that
Even birds and plants need some peace – like me.

Susan is hosting What’s Going On? this week and she says she is ‘longing for peace, a feeling of tranquility accompanied by no killing anywhere. When war and despair stalk the earth, what can we do for peace? If you have a way or can imagine a way, please share it in a poem’. She has also shared three poems for peace, by Wendell Berry, Naomi Shihab Nye and Ellen Bass.
Listening to birdsong can be quite peaceful I think. I got an email the other day about how it’s good for our mental health. Tweet, tweet. Lovely acrostic.❤️🙏🏻

Thank you, Melissa. I have an app on my phone that identifies birdsong and I’m really enjoying finding out which birds visit our village,

Thank you, Sherry! I have an app on my phone called Merlin that identifies birdsong. I’ve been using it on my walks every day and am surprised at how many it records. Trees and birds are so important.

Purely sweet to remember we are like the robin, like the wind, seeking the garden for peace.
