Don’t mourn the departing sun!
Soak up apricity:
its light caress on a chilly day;
a puddle’s glittering surface;
the spark of early frost.
Capture light before winter
draws darkness over long nights,
leaves our lips moon-kissed –
light too sweet to be missed.

It’s Monday and we are dancing the Quadrille at the dVerse Poets Pub with De, who says “Let there be light.” We are writing feather-light poems of just 44 words, including one word provided by our host, which is ‘light’.
De says “Write about daylight, moonlight, sunlight, or starlight. Let lightning strike more than once. Leave your poem as a lighthouse for others to find their way back from sea. Write by candlelight, streetlight, or floodlight. You can take a lighthearted approach or light the page on fire.”
“leaves our lips moon-kissed” that’s a beautiful image of the winter season.

Loving those last lines especially, Kim.
We are finally dipping into some Fall weather here in Southern Nevada. We NEVER mourn that “departing sun.” 😉

Thank you, De. It’s already cold here but we actually had some sunshine this afternoon.
