Nature has engraved the woods
with all the signs of spring.
She’s left her mark on tiny buds,
on blossom and the songbird’s wing.
She’s greening trees and hedges,
singing as she springs.
Nature’s taken drops of sun and signed
her name on everything.
Kim M. Russell, 24th March 2025

This Monday, I’m hosting over at the dVerse Poets Pub with the Quadrille – and the word is ‘engrave’.
I feel immersed in spring’s “greening” splendor, with all the resonant imagery and the internal alliteration in the poem lending a wonderful birdsong of its own. So beautiful, Kim.

The birds in our garden have been very busy too, Kerfe. I love to see them darting about. And the yellow butterflies are back!
