What is this enchantment of words
that soar like birds
or hop from branch to branch?
They are at their best
when they form their murmurations
and make morning declarations,
feather fluttering,
quietly muttering
on the wings of flight:
a gift of magical inspiration.
Kim M. Russell, 7th April 2025

This Monday we are writing quadrilles at the dVerse Poets Pub, and De is our host. She begins with a quote from Plato and ends with a selection of poems to inspire us to write poems of precisely 44 words including one word provided by our host. Today, De would like us to invoke some poetry magic with the word ‘enchant’. And if we have “a (p)enchant for playing with words, that’s more than welcome”.
Beautiful!

A morning walk in spring is so filled with birdsong…. I have an app to identify the birds singing, and right now it’s a lot of robins around where I live (that I never see)

I too have an app on my phone that helps me identify new bird songs. The trick is trying to find them as they hide in the trees.
