Van Gogh’s Wheat Field with Cypress

My response to B&P’s Shadorma & Beyond and Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie

Green Wheat Field with Cypress, Vincent van Gogh 1889,  Narodni Gallery, Prague

Blue and green

Never to be seen

An old wive’s tale

Rejected by nature

Melancholy mixture

Blue and green

Artist’s brush

Loaded with colour

Creates a wash

A rural harmony

Moving clouds, wheat and tree

Artist’s brush

Of rolling fields and

An open sky

From the asylum window

On a summer canvas

Blue and green

Artist’s brush

[Van Gogh’s despair]

  1. A lovely poem Kim the austere quality of the verses brings to mind somehow the artist’s many trials because of his melancholy … and your conclusion poignantly emphasizes this impression. I really like how you adapted the form to your needs ..
