My response to dVerse Poets Pub Quadrille – 4 – grin
The crescent moon has almost disappeared
A Cheshire cat grinning at my madness
Silver smugness
Reminiscent of my aunt’s Buddha
Rotund on the mantelpiece
Smiling down at four-year-old me
Playing the ebony
Notes on the upright piano
A virtuoso
Only Buddha didn’t think so

A delightful quadrille.

Love the thought of what Buddha didn’t think

That Buddha was such a music critic 🙂 Fun piece.

It would be fun to know what Buddha really DID think.

The Buddha was laughing? Maybe he was enjoying!

I must admit he did spook me a bit when I was little and there were quite a few scary porcelain dolls in that room too. I vaguely remember playing the piano to keep them away from me!

Oh my! That’s one way to get a child to practice!

Love this, and the images it instills. Buddha don’t know nuthin’ – 4-year-old music is the BEST.

This is wonderful. Love the allusions to the laughing Buddha and I suspect he would think you a virtuoso .
