New Soil

Driving back from this morning’s Bounce and Rhyme session at the local library, I passed a field in the process of being ploughed, which inspired this poem.

 

feathery flock

a splash

of white

g u l l s

CRASH
of wing waves

against

rich brown earth

churned and cr

um

bl

ing

studded with stones

after

the crust of winter

has been

removed

and

spring’s tenderness

exposed

    1. Thanks! I haven’t done one of those for a while. The original has more movement because I was able to play around with fonts and things. I should have turned it into a jpeg and posted it as a picture.
