Writer’s Block

My response to Jane Dougherty’s Poetry challenge #23: Nove otto – this is how my poor husband must have felt the other day when I was experiencing a dose of writer’s block – and my computer was playing up!

Spitting words with splitting tongue,

The battle with the shrew’s begun.

Her face and eyes are screwed up tight,

Her arms are crossed below her breast,

She can’t be bothered to get dressed.

Because she’s spoiling for a fight,

Her voice is barbed and full of spleen,

Her lurid language is obscene.

Oh, break the block and start to write!
