My response to Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie B&P’s Shadorma and Beyond – How To … – July 2, 2016
No frenetic rush
To board a train, plane or bus,
Buy a stamp or pay for tea;
Just form an orderly queue, please,
Where the British stereotype
Is happiest to gripe
About the wait, queue-jumpers and the weather,
There’s no better place to grumble together.

Lovely … and living in Italy my friend something of a dream – the Italians never queue unless absolutely obliged to do so … like walking them through a long tight corridor 😉 I’ve seen many a shocked American and Brit watch as the Italians board a bus or train.

Hi Georgia! I have to say I didn’t notice any of that in Florence , especially when we were waiting at the Academia. But then, I suppose they were all tourists!

Most likely … and they don’t really expect much from “foreigners” 😉

Oops … sorry that was a mistaken comment there – i was referring to the prego etc. As for queuing up – usually where the tourists are .. like galleries (and most certainly airports) something can be done. It’s every day that can be hectic … and the further south you go the worse it becomes. However, I think the worst place I’ve ever been for this sort of thing is Rome.

Ha ha, birds of a feather! (Um, not that British slang, “birds,” but grumbling birds… like crows on a wire… or starlings. Very entertaining piece!
