Breathing Space

minds need oxygen
space in which to breathe circles
around a living
tree with green lungs for green minds
breathing space in which to grow

circulating, flowing and growing

inspiring spiral
steps from level to level
increase aspiration
to become trees with green minds
breathing space in which to grow

circulating and growing

Japanese Kindergarten Built Around A Tree(1/52) Bored Panda

My response to imaginary garden with real toads Flash 55 PLUS!

Today Kerry is our host for the Flash 55 Challenge, for which we write a piece of poetry or prose on a subject of our choice in precisely 55 WORDS.  For the PLUS! Kerry has given us images for inspiration which she came across while perusing the Bored Panda website: 15+ of the most Amazing Examples of Japanese Architecture. She was so impressed by the ergonomic and/or economic use of space that she chose the concept of SPACE for the optional extra bit of inspiration for our 55-worder.

  1. increase aspiration
to become trees with green minds
breathing space in which to grow

This certainly captures the essence of the architecture. I’d love to have explored that space as a kid.

    1. I found those images so inspiring – the buildings with trees growing in them look as if they were inspired by the Viennese artist Hundertwasser, a huge favourite of mine.

  2. Oh, I love this! Your words and the idea of a kindergarten built around a tree! And your poem’s circling to mimic the construction aroudn the tree, and concept of circulating, flowing, etc. is so fitting.

      1. Yes, unexpected and curvaceous – I wonder if any of the architects were female or whether Japanese architects tap in to their feminine side…
