My response to Carpe Diem #1218 Solar Eclipse

Today’s prompt  is ‘solar eclipse’, a “modern kigo” for summer, taken from Jane Reichhold’s A Dictionary of Haiku. For inspiration, Chèvrefeuille has shared a number of Jane’s haiku on this kigo, as well as his own.
