Dragonfly Reflections

the surface of the river
of neon
blue and green
wings whir
and flash
a dragonfly hovers
then shimmers its way upstream

My response to Imaginary Garden with Real Toads Bits of Inspiration ~ Dragonfly

Susie tells us today about her inspirational daughter, Carrie, who is Artist Relations Director at Art Colony Association Inc., the producers of the Bayou City Art Festival, an important event in Houston. Susie says that, at this year’s Bayou City Arts Festival, she discovered the beautiful art of Ann Byrd and purchased two prints, one of which is a dragonfly. She has shared the totem meaning of the dragonfly and quotes about dragonflies.

For today’s challenge she would like us to write an original poem about dragonfly/dragonflies. It can be in any form we choose.

    1. Thank you! From my experience of dragonflies in our garden, they are their own element. There’s nothing else like it, and describing them as neon doesn’t really do them justice.
