Deafening silence;
the germ of a noisy thought
bubbles at its heart,
ready to burst stars
into gushing streams,
rivers and mighty oceans
that teem with life.
Seahorses,
short-snouted and spiny,
tide-tangled in the briny,
are eager to shed the waves
and give the land a try.

My response to Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie Sunday Writing Prompt #233 “Creation Myth”
This week we are either creating our own creation myths or retelling/sharing existing myths.
Sea horses are so enigmatic and amazing. It is a wonderful picture and I love the description ‘tide-tangled!’

Very good, this. I haven’t thought of seahorses for a long time. Love this poem.

Fabulous response Kim, I remember as a kid on holidays we could wander through the seaweed in the shallows of the lake where we stayed and find tiny seahorses, such beautifully delicate creatures.

Thank you, Michael. Sadly I have only seen them in a zoo aquarium. I would love to see them in their own habitat!
