Poem in 44 Words

PO –
is the in –
breath, the in –
flow of in –
spiration, an opening
to be filled to overflowing.
A pause
words to form,
lines to come
together, to be one,
a symphony  of expression
in the outbreath,
the humming of the mantra –

My response to dVerse Poets Pub Quadrille: Poem One for Me

I’m late in responding to Victoria’s prompt as I’ve been off-line for five days.

Victoria said that however we may view ourselves, beginners, seasoned, published, hopeless, we have poetic DNA running in our veins. Others may think we are a bit weird or eccentric, but we can’t help writing poems. Which is why our word for this Monday’s Quadrille was ‘poem’ or any word that relates to it.

  1. Wow. I didn’t know where this was going but I am usually dull on these things. But there were so many clues and I loved them all…and they are absolutely right. They lead to the end and the purpose of it all. Brava, Kim. “An opening to be filled overflowing” Exactly.
