an empty soul drifts
in the depths of the river
ascend to the light
Kim M. Russell, 2018

My response to Carpe Diem #1371 Sansara (the cycle of life)
For today’s episode, Chèvrefeuille has shared a part of Hermann Hesse’s Siddhartha, in which he runs away from his home, his beautiful Kamala and the world. Siddhartha has realised that his life as a wealthy merchant will not bring him the enlightenment he is looking for.
I love that image. Although I (try to) do yoga and meditate I avoid the essays and images as I find it too sweet for my palate, but this is one is nice.

Great imagery of a drifting soul ascending. And the pic fits it so well.

Nice response. You have caught the theme of Siddhartha’s doubts.
