I look for my voice…

and it sticks in my throat
like a subterranean river
in a concrete culvert

it hisses like the breeze
toothless in leafless trees
or chevrons of goose music

when what I desire
is a speckle of thrush song
to fly through open sky

  1. My goodness this is absolutely gorgeous Kim!💞 I love how you describe the urgency and yet inability of the voice to pour out its desires at times. Beautifully done!😍

  2. How I know that we get geese in flight when we want thrush song, sometimes both are urgent needs. I love the images of toothless trees and trapped rivers. May the seasons turn and change.

We need not have to ask for much but somehow things might find it difficult to move the way we want. Yes, sometimes it happens!
