inky streak of cloud
in peripheral vision
raindrop of a thought
Kim M. Russell, 2018

My response to Poets United Midweek Motif: Beginnings
Susan has given us a whole range of images, saying and poems to help us ponder the question of ‘how to begin’, which she says has generated books upon books in every game and every field, and the answers are still not exhausted.
Our Challenge is to write a new poem which traces a thing, event, or action back to its true or imagined beginnings.
That is how it often starts.

This is so lovely, Kim. Raindrop of the thought. It always seems to start that way. Sometimes builds to a novel.

Thank you, Jane. It’s been raining all night so I’m hoping for more inspiration once I’ve read and commented – I was too busy and tired to do it yesterday!

Raindrop of a thought is a lovely image….Now all you need is a torrential downpour! You could write a monsoon poem:)
