in crystal streams
that brim with exquisite clarity
streaked with fronds of weed
children with nets
for sticklebacks and water boatmen
dip into the mysteries
rainbow trout
and biplane dragonflies
shimmering like electricity
shimmering like electricity
and biplane dragonflies
rainbow trout
dip into the mysteries
for sticklebacks and water boatmen
children with nets
streaked with fronds of weed
brim with exquisite clarity
in crystal streams

My response to dVerse Poets Pub Meeting the Bar: Reverse Poetry
Frank is hosting Meeting the Bar this week with reverse poems – poems that contain a part which can be read from top to bottom or bottom to top; however, the whole poem doesn’t have to be reversible. He has provided an example by Marina McCready, ‘the civilized man’.
Nice description forward and back. I like the phrase “brim with exquisite clarity”.

Love the imagery here! Something happened with your illustration and there is a huge yellow box with a message inside it instead? And I love the movement of who is doing the dipping in the two reads.

I caught a shift in the dipping perspective of the first versus the second one Kim.
Love the images of:
rainbow trout
and biplane dragonflies

I like the way our poem dips into the stream with children and dragon flies and nets. Your reverse poetry works very well!

Dipping into mysteries, you capture the gift of youth beautifully in every line.

This poem perfectly expresses my yesterday. We took our granddaughter fishing. Well done, forward and backward.

You rocked the hell out of thew prompt. I love the word “frond”. I like the way you combine the flash of a rainbow trout and the dragon fly.
