My response to Carpe Diem #1588 delight in company
This month we are exploring classical and modern kigo (seasonwords) for winter and today we have a modern kigo, which has been taken from Jane Reichhold’s Saijiki, A Dictionary of Haiku: ‘delight in company’.
As insipiration, we have been given examples of haiku in which Jane Reichhold uses this modern kigo:
a new winter friend
up the year’s steep sloping
our flow of words
bird song
under winter quilts
bodies touching
curved ink
the warmth of your hand
in the letters
Jane Reichhold
A very subtle suggestion of ‘delight in company’.
