Returning to Now

a strange emptiness
time becomes slow and breathless
as spring warmth transcends

a strange emptiness
no small thunderclouds of birds
rain from empty skies

time becomes slow and breathless
a snowy white hare
eyes wide, ears flat back

as spring warmth transcends
with the scent of witch hazel
a citrus firework

My response to Carpe Diem Weekend Meditation #69 Returning To Now

In the last weekend meditation of January we have a special feature with music by Karunesh to inspire us.  Karunesh creates fusion music, in which he combines several kinds of music. Our challenge is to create a haiku inspired by a track is called ‘Returning to Now’ (from the album ‘Zen Breakfast’, released in 2001) and then create a troiku with it.
