spring snow
everything wakes to silence
in the mountains
purifies earth and heaven
with its whiteness
this crystallised hope
our enemies perish
from the grip and bite of ice
new shoots start to show

My response to Carpe Diem #1675 Troiku Month (4) spring snow
Today’s haiku is by a lesser-known modern haiku poet. It was inspired by the Great Asian (Pacific) War but could apply to any war.
spring snow
purifies earth and heaven –
our enemies perish

You have created a wonderful Troiku Kim. This haiku by Shuoasi wasn’t an easy one to work with I think, but you did great.

Thank you, Kristjaan. It was a tricky haiku to work with, but I got there in the end!
