My response to Imaginary Garden with Real Toads NaPoWriMo Day 27 Play it Again in April 2020: The Way of Tea
On Wednesday, April 27, 2016, Rommy made her prompt debut on her birthday. Happy birthday, Rommy!
She brought us the Japanese tea ceremony, its history and poems about the practice of tea by Sen No Rikyu, a poet and tea aficionado. Rommy chose seven of his poems to serve as our inspiration to create new poems. The first time around, I wrote a poem of five lines. I decided to revisit it and rework it into a new shape poem.
I’m merging this prompt with Kerry’s Skylover Wordlist, sourced from Dylan Thomas’s poetry collection Deaths and Entrances, from which the twenty-seventh word is ‘intimacies’.
Oh, I adore the shape of your poem. So well done!
