hidden in the shade
of the willow, I avoid
the sun’s burning kiss

My response to Carpe Diem Celebrates Its 8th Anniversary October 2020: #1835 caught by the call (Hando)
Today we are being inspired by Hando’s haiku:
caught by the call
of the flowers and mountain, I forget
how steep the path is
Our challenge is to write a new haiku in the same tone, sense and spirit.
Beautiful imagery — I love haiku and tanka, though I don’t pretend to be a great exponent.

Gorgeous! The willow is my favorite tree.
My bit followed the idea in a roundabout sort of way. It ended up being a Senryu, as my work so often does.
