muscle, artery and vein
a slice of knife
spray of blood and pain
and fall of head in hands
not mine
but mine
is vengeance
swapping blood
for turpentine and oil
thumbscrew torture of a sybil
for a quick death
a last breath

Thank you Ingrid! I’m just taking part in NaPoWriMo for the time being, until my eye op on 21st April. My husband has Covid, so we are stuck at home at the moment, which is not such a bad thing considering the weather…. and the sun just came out! April Fool!

Very dark for you, Kim. Nice to see you back. I hope hubby gets well fast. We are just finishing up quarantining also here in Portsmouth, U.K. My last day today, Mrs. Jim’s was over Wednesday. Next we’ll head home to Texas as it’s been long.
Best wishes for your cateract ordeal, it shouldn’t be too bad. We’ve had ours last year; the main things are to not start bleeding or get infections.

Thank you Jim! I’ve missed you all, but I’m not back properly until September. I’m surprised that you’ve been quarantine in Portsmouth – how long have you been in the UK? My daughter lives in Hampshire and took my grandson to Go Ape I Portsmouth for his fourth birthday. I hope your return to Texas goes smoothly.

Thank you Kim! Are you taking part in NaPoWriMo this year?

No, I’m not. We have two significant birthdays to celebrate, a Dutch friend staying with us (who, of course, we haven’t seen since 2019), and decorating to do……
