My poem won’t do what I want it to. I chew my pen, my nails, my lip and resort to the key- board. No change. Words seem to have lives of their own. They’re off to have adventures, without me, they don’t care about poetry. Yet, they’ve guided me here, to a wordingfount, where poems are found. Kim M. Russell, 21st April 2023

It’s day twenty-one and three weeks into NaPoWriMo, and the optional prompt gives us another poem to read, Sarah Gambito’s ‘Grace’ and a choice of an abstract noun from a list to use as the title for a poem that contains very short lines, and at least one invented word.
Wow!! This is a terrific take , Kim. I like your found word. 🙂

to have
lives
of their own.

Words can escape us but when they return it is with all the vengeance to give back the goodness. Love the short lines, Kim!

Hmmm… looks like if the poem wasn’t cooperating, the words hightailed it back from their adventures and turned things around nicely for you. Great poem Kim!

I enjoyed this prompt on that day, too, and love your invented word. The short lines work so very well for that feeling of anxiety that comes from not being able to write.
