Asking the Right Question

Three letter questions, like how,
who and why, do
send me off on a tangent. Have you
meandered among those words? Have you ever
been lost in a how? We will never know
if we have been taken for
fools, but it is certain,
in the world in which we live today, that
the rich and powerful do not care what you
think, how you live, whether you are
healthy, coping, happy and doing
what you always dreamed of. The
powerful don’t ask if you are all right  –
that’s never a thing.

After a long hiatus, I am exploring the WordPress reader again and rediscovering blogs and websites, including Violet’s. It was lovely to see artwork by Kerfe, too. And then I became engaged with her story – comment to follow on her blog.

I was drawn to the literary quote Violet chose this week, having read and loved All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr: “How do you ever know for certain that you are doing the right thing?” I chose to write a golden shovel from the quote.

    I took an extended nearly 4 year hiatus myself and jumping back into the blogging community I had formed beforehand was like coming home. So many wonderful writers are still here and active.
