Between the Falling in Love Parts

Between falling love and other parts of life,
things happen:

spring blossoms come
                                    and go;

waves crash on beaches;

parts of mountains
c r u m b l e ;

skies change colour.

We grow up,
take on responsibility,

land with both feet
on the ground.

‘Between the Falling in Love Parts’ by Phyllis Bramson

It’s Thursday and time for Open Link Night at the dVerse Poets Pub, where Lisa is our host. She has shared a painting, ‘Between the Falling in Love Parts’, a mixed media painting by Phyllis Bramson, a Chicago-based artist, which Lisa tells us she saw up close at the Muskegon Museum of Art this spring and got lost in the imagery of it. It’s one of two optional mini prompts, and I rather enjoy an ekphrastic prompt.
