Autumn has arrived,
with winter close behind
and the cold is creeping
closer every day.
But I have my cosy
woollen winter coat.
I plan to walk about,
through wind and rain,
fog and snow,
hands in deep pockets
until spring comes around again.
Kim M. Russell, 5th October 2026

This Monday at the dVerse Poets Pub we are writing quadrilles with De, and the prompt word is ‘pocket’.
Such a lovely pic of you, Kim!!!!! You look like you are in your element. Happy to see it’s still mostly green there. The seasons like to keep us busy, don’t they.

Thank you, Lisa! That’s an old photo. It’s fully autumn here now, We’re expecting a drastic fall in temperature this week.

Indeed Kim, I plan on doing the samw thing! LOL Very nice picture and thought of not letting all the rain and snow stop us from walking about!! 🩵
Im headed to the garden, the tomatoes are almost at their peak and so winter and the cold will just have to wait a bit longer here! A very nice and cozy poem, well done! 🧡

The cold months can prompt a number of external activities to ward off boredom in the house. How true Kim!
