Passion

My response to Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie Tale Weaver Prompt #72: June 16 2016: Passiflora caerulea

Awash with cerulean ripples,

Other-worldly, complex flowers

Clamour,

South American beauties

At the windows of a brothel,

Wild and menacing

As their vigorous vines

Intertwine

And swallow trees whole

Like Amazonian anacondas.

And yet,

The intricate structure

Of each flower

Is a symbol

Of another kind of Passion:

Flagellating tendrils,

Lance leaf and petal apostles,

Stigma nails and anther wounds,

The filaments a crown of thorns,

A pure white flower

In garments of azure.

  1. Thank you for playing along with the TW prompt Kim! 🙂

Wonderful response – I love how you’ve explored the flower – and the metaphors you’ve created –
great ideas and phrases in combinations that are as striking as the flower it self 😀
