We are invisible,
held together by dark matter.
We speckle emptiness,
galaxies strung like diamonds on taffy
pulled by space and time in an expanding universe,
sculpted and dented by gravity
into a map of invisibility.

My response to Imaginary Garden with Real Toads – Invisible
Today Marian has shared a newly-released video for Christina Grimmie, a young and vibrant singer-songwriter, gamer and YouTuber who unfortunately was murdered last year after one of her concerts. Marian was thinking about the idea of invisibility and came across this tribute to a talented woman who had a fondness for gaming and anime.
For NaPoWriMo Day 14, Marian would like us to muse on invisibility. What does it feel like to be invisible? Who or what is invisible? Would invisibility be a cool superpower or what?
Oh boy…we are! Great take on the prompt. I went dark matter of a different kind.

I’m a sucker for any written piece that gives me a free ride through space. The middle line is exquisite as it pulls everything towards the centre.

Okay, so I tend to ignore rules (in writing and other places where it won’t land me in jail), and I read these two lines:
“held together by dark matter.
We speckle emptiness” …totally ignoring the full stop (I’m sorry, officer, the tree was blocking the stop sign). We speckle emptiness, by itself is a wonderful line.
