Downward stroke of raven wing,
coal-black and glistening
in the morning sun,
sweeps clouds into one,
a blot on the blue.
Its forsaken caw
breaks early morning
silence
like the letterbox flap,
the post on the mat;
only its message
is scrawled in the sky
and punctuated
by its shiny jet eye.

I like that message being written in the sky and punctuated by its eye.
