Quixotic Giant

Obsessed with windmills               feet planted in earth
head in the clouds                           a quixotic birth
with a love of sails                           in a flat county
sunset never fails                             yielding fantasy’s bounty
to spellbind a giant                          with shadows
into a night-black silhouette          performing a pirouette

A cleave poem inspired by Jane Dougherty – my response to Sue Vincent’s Daily Echo Thursday Photo Prompt – Sails – #writephoto

Every Thursday at noon GMT, Sue publishes one of her photos as a writing prompt. Throughout the week, she features a number of the responses on the Daily Echo and, every week, a full round-up of posts is published, linking back to the original posts.
