My response to Carpe Diem #1378 Finally … Enlightenment
This is the penultimate episode of a month in which we’ve explored the Silk Road while reading about a young Brahman son, Siddhartha, on a quest for enlightenment. Today Chèvrefeuille has shared the end of Siddhartha’s story.
A beautiful haiku Kim, I hope you are all keeping warm 💜 xxx

Thank you, Xenia! I’m keeping warm by knitting a blanket for my grandson who is due next Wednesday. I just hope I can get down there in the snow. I don’t think there will be any Bounce and Rhyme at the library this morning and I have a feeling the infant school will be closed, so no reading. I should have all day to crack on with the blanket. It’s golden yellow with sheep that I’m intarsia-knitting with fluffy wool. I have to embroider legs and faces on each one individually but it’s worth it and I know my daughter will love it I’ve already finished a snuggly baby sleeping bag with sleeves and a hood, a little suit , a hat and a pair of bootees, all completely nontraditional – no baby colours! I can’t wait to see him in them.

It sounds like the snows have caused more disruption down south than up here and hopefully it will have passed by the time you welcome your grandson into the world! Your knitting sounds beautiful and it is extra special when made with so much love. I am sure your daughter will love and treasure all that you are creating. I love non-traditional and your pieces sound amazing. Happy knitting Kim and I wish you all a wonderful time next Wednesday! ☺💖 xxx

Such enlightenment isn’t that what we all are looking for during our life … A real beautiful haiku full of spirituality.
