a ripened cherry
embarrassed by the high sun
low moon swims with stars

My response to Carpe Diem Crossroads #2 the summer moon
In this new weekly feature, we have two haiku by two very different haiku poets:
a thousand gallons
shower from the eaves…
cherry blossoms

and
it touches the line
of my fishing pole –
this summer moon

Lovely, Kim….haiku is so psychological. I think of haiku as a short cut, and honest short cut to truth and reality. The speed of an instant revealment…or something like this. “Low moon swims with stars”….beautiful. I also love Issa. He is tops in humaneness. Sometimes Basho, etc. are not so obtainable for me, but Issa always is. I think of Issa like Saigyo. Both unremittingly honest.

I like this ‘fusion’ between the two haiku I gave.
