gathering flowers
in the heat of the evening
the shadows lengthen
unexpected guests
break the stillness of twilight
knocking at the door
come to dinner
animated shadows spread

My response to Carpe Diem #1672 Troiku Month (1) unexpected guests
This June at Carpe Diem Haiku Kai, our challenge is to create Troiku, a creative way of haiku-ing, based on creativity and free-styling. A Troiku starts with a given haiku and the goal is to create three new haiku with the separated lines of the given haiku.
For this first episode we have a haiku by Jane Reichhold, taken from A Dictionary of Haiku.

A very pleasant scene. Mine was quite a bit more eerie.
