in the mountain’s shade
early snow and late roses
scattered on the grass
in the mountain’s shade
tended by a silent monk
monastery garden
early snow and late roses
Indian summer
merging with winter
scattered on the grass
the only signs of autumn
brightly coloured leaves

My response to Carpe Diem Weekend Meditation #100 Crossroads: Indian Summer
This weekend, it’s our first meditation of Autumn 2019, and we have a new logo with Mount Fuji in an autumn setting. The challenge is to create a Troiku with a fusion-haiku created from two given haiku on the theme of Indian Summer:
after a warm day
a thin layer of fresh fallen snow
covers the garden
Indian Summer
inbetween seasons
roses bloom again
Chèvrefeuille
You have created a peaceful scene. I can see the quiet monk in my mind tending his roses.
