after the drumming of last night’s storm
this morning’s view from the window
is silvered with rain, colours
have faded – no rainbow
just gossamer threads
on leaf and bough
glistening
crystals
fresh
Kim M. Russell, 9th April 2022

On NaPoWriMo Day 9, I am delighted that my poem is featured as daily participant with my “breezy interpretation of Day Eight’s alter-ego prompt”.
Today’s prompt focuses on a specific form: we are writing nonets. A nonet has nine lines: the first line has nine syllables, the second has eight, and so on until the last line, which has just one syllable. I’ve gone from wind to rain – short and sweet!
Oh Kim, I love the way that this distills itself down to that final line. Great Nonet! Thanks.
