We are trapped in the revolution of the earth around a fiery star. We rise with it, praise its bright light and heat, let it guide us from afar, and when its radiance is spent, all that’s left is its phantom, pale and lunar. Kim M. Russell, 17th April 2023

Written for this Monday’s Quadrille, which I am hosting over at the dVerse Poets Pub, where we are starting a revolution with 44 words.
For anyone who is new to the form, the Quadrille is when we take any meaning of one word and transform it into 44 poetic words.
I love that you included its pale mirror, la Luna.

Thanks Björn. We can’t really have one without the other. 🙂

There’s some comfort in that entrapment. And then there’s the moon.

Never looked at the sun as being haunted by the moon before. Thank you for a new perspective, Kim ❤

I like to think the moon is there to soothe the sky after a fiery sun. I love your revolution quadrille Kim ☺️💕

So sorry you are still waiting for the sun. It’s chilly here but very sunny.

A beautiful transition/comparison depicted here. This is so hauntingly beautiful….”all that’s left
is its phantom, pale and lunar.” Love it, Kim.

Like it or not things are constantly changing around us. Hopefully not too fast when it comes to our revolutions around the sun. Well done, Kim.

“…all that’s left

Luna’s beauty is only seen via Sol’s spotlight, it’s a dual loss.
