Melting into Mourning

In the graveyard,

final moments

melt like kisses

on eyelids of the dead;

sods of earth

melt like shadows

into the darkness of the grave.

A small child,

wandering between legs

of adults,

coats and trousers flapping

in the funereal breeze,

melts into mourning.
