Follow me, she said,
In her dress of blue.
Yes, I will, I said,
I will follow you
In the traces of your footsteps
Imprinted in the sand,
Reaching, ever reaching,
For your ghostly hand.
Overhead the seagulls turned
Into the bitter breeze,
A reminder of my sister’s cries
As she drowned in winter seas.
