Postcard to My Younger Self

Wish you were here where I am now,
no longer craving days without a row,
happy family games and fun
with Mr, Mrs and the children Bun.
No more nightmares in council flats,
where we couldn’t have dogs or cats;
no more wishing for trips away
to break the boredom of school holidays;
no more put-downs and sleepless nights.
Now I have green shadows and light,
sparkling water and big open skies,
so huge you wouldn’t believe your eyes.

      1. or given the knowledge you shared may have relaxed and thought it didn’t need ‘working’ for and got somewhere else entirely different….it’s an idea thta has ‘stories’ bursting out of it.

  1. One of the best thoughts I have come across for a postcard poem! We often speak to ourselves at times that are thought provoking or may be in a dilemma or sadness.. I do that!
    This one’s really nice, Kim! 🙂
