Waiting for Snowdrops

the lush green leaves stand proud
waiting
a snowflake’s about to blossom

My response to Carpe Diem Weekend-Meditation #19 Out Of The Box #2 Tau-ku

For this weekend’s meditation, Chèvrefeuille has chosen a feature in which we are challenged to think out of the box of Japanese poetry forms with a Tau-ku. It is similar to the pi-ku, a very short poem in which the mathematical number pi is used: the first line counts three syllables, the second line 1 syllable and the third line 4 syllables. However, the Tau-ku uses the mathematical number tau or 6.28: the first line has six syllables, the second line has two syllables and the third line has eight syllables.
